“Today Years Old” Facts That Will Blow Your Mind

by Frances Garcia
October 6, 2025

Everyone thinks they’re pretty smart, but they’re wrong. There is a world full of mostly useless information just waiting for you to discover it. We’ve got some of the crazy things that people learned when they were “today years old.”

  • Donald Duck isn’t the same around the globe. In Germany, he’s a major popular pop-icon. You can even buy Donald Duck comics. He is a sophisticated duck with a high language level.
  • Breakfast is called this for a reason. It’s because this is the first meal you eat when you wake up. You’re breaking your fast.
  • The original Chupa Chups logo was designed by the famous artist, Salvador Dali. He drew it as a favor for his friend.
  • Kangaroos don’t even have a real pouch. Their pouch is a hole in their body where their young live.
  • Pigs don’t go to the market to shop. “This little piggy went to market” means your little piggy went to a market where he’s the one sold to the shoppers.
  • A frog’s tongue is ten times softer than a human tongue. It attaches to the front of its mouth instead of the back of the mouth.
  • Don’t feel special when you buy something that says “Genuine Leather.” This is actually the lowest grade of leather that a company can use legally for its products.
  • If you get a spare in bowling, it’s because you knocked down the rest of the bowling pins with your extra, “spare” ball.
  • The “Home Alone” filthy animals movie is fake. The gangsters that Kevin is watching are from a fictional “Angels With Filthy Souls” movie.
  • The Michael Myers mask in “Halloween” was originally a William Shatner mask. It was spray painted white.
  • Owls have really long legs.
  • The famous American Gothic painting isn’t what you think. It’s not a husband and wife hanging out in front of their farm. It’s a father and daughter.
  • There is no evidence that explains the days of the weeks. We have to trust some historian decided that today was Tuesday, and go with it.
  • A screwdriver wrench is useful for more than you think. You can put a wrench around it to help loosen those really tight screws.
  • The term “movie footage” is because motion picture films are measured by feet.
  • If you put your spaghetti pasta through the middle of your pasta serving spoon, you’ll have exactly one serving of spaghetti.
